The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC) was created more than 45 years ago specifically to serve adolescents by helping young people access the services they need to make responsible, informed decisions about their health care and their lives. Today, the Center stands as the largest and most comprehensive program of its kind in the country and as a successful model for other adolescent focused health care efforts. MSAHC offers a comprehensive array of medical and reproductive, and mental and dental health services, plus prevention, health education, and support services. Its multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, health educators and other health professionals strive to help young people become full and responsible partners in their health care, which is demonstrated in the Center’s lower rates of teen pregnancy, substance abuse, untreated mental health issues, and learning differences. In addition to core services, youth who come to the MSAHC can also receive

•Nutrition and wellness
•Comprehensive dental care
•Obesity prevention and eating disorder treatment
•Substance-abuse prevention and treatment
•Pregnancy prevention
•Teen-parenting services - for teen parents and their infants/toddlers
•Violence prevention and treatment - including crisis intervention and ongoing care for victims of sexual violence
•Comprehensive services for HIV-positive and at-risk youth - medical care, mental health care, and support services
•Legal services
•Community outreach and school-based services

The MSAHC is finding ways to bridge the gap between the need for, and the delivery of, health care among teens. In addition to serving this important and diverse community through outreach, prevention, and intervention, the Center is also a national leader in education, research, and advocacy on behalf of teens and their well-being.

To that end, the MSAHC has recognized the need for a simple, confidential tool for teens and young people everywhere to get answers to important and sensitive questions, manage their reproductive health, and educate and inform decisions that affect their well-being, lives and relationships thru this easy to use and simple app.

With the MSAHC app, young people can:

•Get important health and wellness information in a confidential manner from qualified, trained experts in adolescent medicine
•Create a passcode protected profile as either a patient of the MSAHC or as a non-patient with access to all but the patient specific features of the app
•Ask a question and a qualified provider will respond to your question within one business day
•Keep or discard questions and answers - it’s up to the user
•Create an anonymous name when asking questions - keep your conversation private and anonymous
•Get notifications related to health, wellness, events, and mythbusters including tips specific to teen parents and what to expect when caring for an infant
